Colman Domingo’s first leading role
Media whiz Muncie Daniels must fight for his innocence and his life after stumbling upon a murder deep in the Poconos. Boy, did I want to like this. I’ve enjoyed other things Colman has done, but this is a waste of time.
And poor Colman is miscast here
Some really questionable and predictable script choices, and I’m sorry to say, the acting is just not great overall. He’s not that kind of leading man. It reminded me of when Tyler Perry tried to play Alex Cross.
It’s just not believable
As the series progressed, scene after scene of two people inexplicably whispering plot points to each other (why not show us?), it was very hard to stay awake. Watching Colman run was painful. It’s always funny to me when non-athlete actors get the chance to play action-heavy roles.
Move on to the next one
(He wasn’t great at action in Fear the Walking Dead, and he’s not here either.) This always creeps me out and smells like a vanity project. His mouth hangs open in every scene when he’s “thinking”; (tell him he’s not comfortable and worried about playing “straight” in my opinion). Not everyone ends up being an action star.
