Synopsis
Amidst the glaring discord of the twin cities of Piltover and Zaun, two sisters fight on opposing sides of a war between magical technologies and conflicting beliefs. See the actors behind some of your favorite animated films and series, including Ella Purnell in “Arcane.” Fortiche Productions made a music video called “Get Jinxed” for Riot in 2013, featuring Jinx and the city of Piltover. After the release of the first season, Riot announced that there will be a second season and that it will take less time to produce.

The animation is absolutely exquisite
Arcane tells the story of two young orphaned sisters, growing up and getting into trouble in the dual cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends, and while it drops you right into this fictional world, the time and care is taken to set up the locations and characters in a commendable show-don’t-tell fashion. The solid character development and world-building mean it’s a thoroughly enjoyable watch without knowing anything about the game.
There’s an incredible attention to detail
As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be far beyond anything I’ve seen in an animated series before. It’s clear that no artistic talent or monetary expense was spared in bringing the world of Runeterra to life. Great soundtrack, great acting, and a gripping story that pulls no punches when it comes to violence and more adult themes.
So far, only the first three episodes have been released, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
