Video games have made a huge leap forward onto the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre by taking a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations into films and shows. Clive Standen reprises his role as the voice of Demetrius Titus, the protagonist of the video game Space Marine 2.
I was really excited about this one
The episode is set after the events of the game, as a longtime fan of Tim Miller’s second series, Love Death + Robots. Then I started to notice that few of the stories were able to hold my attention for too long.
They would end right before anything interesting happened
I think the series would benefit from focusing more on the concepts and ideas of the games it adapted, rather than just showing how revolutionary and innovative these games are, which you can play instead of watching the series. I liked LDR because it used the short time it had to give it incredible worldbuilding and characters to get attached to, but the episodes here barely do that.
Otherwise, the animation is spectacular and the voice acting is excellent
I’ll have to wait until the full series is released before I form an opinion. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
